How to Enable the New Google Bar

In case you were wondering, Google has been working on a new layout for nearly all of their services including search. The new YouTube layout was released yesterday morning and was received by many people with "mixed emotions".

You can enable the new Google Bar on Google Chrome by simply following these instructions:

  • Install Edit this Cookie from Google Web Store
  • Go to Google.com and right click on any blank spot on the page.
  • Select "Edit this Cookie" option.
  • Click on "PREF" and delete all of the contents in the "Value" section.
  • Paste the following code into the value section
ID=03fd476a699d6487:U=88e8716486ff1e5d:FF=0:LD=en:CR=2:TM=1322688084:LM=1322688085:S=
  • Click Submit Cookie Changed at the bottom of the page
  • Restart your browser.
After completing these steps, you should have Google's newest feature.

Now, you can go and brag to your friends about how "up-to-date" you are!
