There are several "Logo Generators" out there which produce very standard graphics that several people all ready have. If you don't have the time to create your own logo from scratch, you might want to go this route.
If, however, you want to get down and dirty with your graphics editor, do NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES go the previous road. If you are planning on starting your own website/business and want to portray a professional image, hire a designer or design your own.
Logo Designs
There are a few different types of logo:
- Text (Coca-Cola, Google)
- Text and Graphic (TheGeekPanel)
- Graphic (Apple)
Most professional logos are a play on the name of the company. For example, if you're business is called Global Fire Productions (just an example!), you may want to have a small globe graphic that has been set on fire.
It is up to you what type of logo you choose.
TypeFace
If you choose a logo that has text, Typeface is a very important factor to consider. There are many different styles of free fonts available to download on the web. We use DaFont.com because all of the fonts are easily split up into different categories.
The rest is up to you. Colour, shape, size and format are also big factors in logo design.
