If you have not noticed, Facebook has made some drastic changes to their users profiles. They have added a
ticker that allows you to see apps, status updates, music and TV shows that your friends are watching or doing. Facebook has also "loosened" the privacy settings of their users.
At their F8 developer conference last week, Facebook announced Timeline. Timeline is essentially a summary of a users life all on their profile page. Facebook wants to know EVERYTHING you do, from getting up in the morning to going to bed in the evening.
Just last week, Google announced Google+ public, so now Facebook has a competitor in the Social Networking niche.
The competition of Google+ and Facebook could be a good thing because Google+ has a nice clean interface and a well thought out user experience including 'circles' so you can group people in a specific group and then post status updates to certain ones, public or all of your circles.
Facebook on the other hand has now introduced a similar feature called Smart Lists which enables users to be able to post updates to specific "lists" rather than there previous layout: Everyone was your friend.
Facebook now needs to watch it's self as it could end up the next MySpace.
From now on, I will be switching to Google+ as my primary business social network as well as Twitter.
Let me know what you think of these changes.
